Elisse Magnuson

Elisse Magnuson

Elisse’s research interests include microbial genomics and activity in extreme environments, including Arctic cold saline springs and the atmosphere. Current projects include examining microbial communities in wildfire smoke in the Northwest Territories and protocol development for detection of activity in atmospheric bacteria. She was awarded the Armand-Frappier Outstanding Student Award from the Canadian society of Microbiology for her PhD work in polar microbiology. She currently holds a prestigious NSERC postdoctoral fellowship.
